Body Bags
A body bag is a non-porous bag designed to contain a human body, used for the storage and transport of corpses. They prevent the leakage of body fluids which can occur after death. The dimensions of a standard body-bag are generally around 36 inches by 90 inches.
Standard Body Bags
Classic Plastics’ Standard body bags are manufactured using the same monomeric soft feel vinyl as our garments. This 8 mil vinyl is incredibly resistant to punctures and still retains its pliability in cold temperatures. This .008 Gauge white vinyl bag has an envelope style zipper. The Bag size is 36” x 90”; 3 identity toe tags are included with each standard bag.
Our body bags are fabricated in a state of the art facility where all perimeter edges are heat sealed using a fully relieved and polished .375" wide heat seal bar. This is important because it reduces the amount of vinyl extrusion caused in the heat sealing process -- too much extrusion will cause the seams to fail. Using this method of fabrication and our prescribed formulation of vinyl, we have greatly reduced seam failures and leaks.
Heavy Duty Body Bags
Classic Plastics Heavy Duty Disaster body bags are manufactured using a .020 Gauge black vinyl that includes an inside liner to prevent leakage of fluids that may result from excessive handling or rough conditions. This bag has 6 reinforced, extra wide carry handles for ease of handling. This bag is tested to 600 lb. lifting capacity.
The large capacity envelope style heavy-duty zipper with 2 zipper pulls provides easy access. This allows the autopsy to be performed without removal from the bag in some cases. The bag size is 36” x 90”; 3 Identity toe tags are included with each heavy duty bag. Complies with OSHA, Department of Defense, FEMA and Bio-Terrorism standards.
PEVA Body Bag / Cremation Pouches
Classic Plastics PEVA body bags are manufactured from a .010 Gauge White Polyethylene Vinyl Acetate and are used for cremations. This material contains no PVCs and is burnable. . The PEVA bags have an unlimited shelf life and retain their strength, flexibility & soft feel in cold temperatures. The envelope style zipper provides easy access. This body bag is extremely durable, leak proof and puncture resistant. Complies with OSHA, Department of Defense, FEMA and Bio-Terrorism standards. 3 Identity toe tags are included with each heavy duty bag; bag size is 40” x 96”
Torso Body Bag
Classic Plastics Torso body bags are manufactured using .008 Gauge white vinyl and are used for adolescents or smaller remains. This bag has an envelope style zipper and 3 identity toe tags are included with each standard bag. The Bag size is 31” x 49”.
Infant Body Bag
Classic Plastics Infant body bags are manufactured using .008 Gauge white vinyl. This bag has an envelope style zipper; 3 identity toe tags are included with each standard bag. The Bag size is 18” x 28”.
Body Wrap
Classic Plastics also manufactures Body Wraps using .010 Gauge opaque vinyl. The wrap size is 72” x 120”.
