ECO-Propylene™ - PVC Free, Flexible Plastic Film

Classic Plastics is now offering ECO-Propylene™, a PVC-free, flexible plastic film that has been engineered to be RF weld able and work with traditional heat sealing equipment. ECO-Propylene™ has a number of benefits over the use of PVC in dozens of applications, including stationery products, packaging, tag and label, pressure sensitive applications, agricultural and forestry markets, flagging films, and much more.

Listed below are a number of advantages of ECO-Propylene™ over traditional flexible PVC:

1. Heat sealable polypropylene. Until now, PP required sonic-welding equipment in order to create a tear seal for producing finished products. This film will work in RF-weld able equipment, without being loaded with Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) which is expensive and contributes to the film feeling like rubber.
2. No Chlorine, no phthalates, no heavy metals = no issues with government regulations and mandates. Polypropylene is 100% accepted as a "green" alternative to PVC by all government agencies and major U.S. retailers.
3. Printable, until now PP has always responded poorly to printing. ECO-Propylene will outperform general purpose PP films.
4. ECO-Friendly. ECO-Propylene™ uses 30% less petro-based compounds in its manufacturing, and uses renewable energy as part of its compound composition.
5. Density. ECO-Propylene is about 25% less dense than PVC, so your yard yield per pound will be greater, and the total weight of your finished product will be less that vinyl, which can help impact freight costs.
6. Cold Crack. ECO-Propylene™ has a cold crack rating almost 40% better than traditional PVC. Impact cracking will no longer be a problem with ECO-propylene.
7. Customization. ECO-Propylene™ can be run in small batches, so if your customer wants a custom color, PFC can provide a custom film color matched to your specification. With PVC, a minimum run for custom products will usually require an order of 2500LBs. With ECO-Propylene™, we can do a custom run under 1000LBs.
